Introduction

Orthopaedic Oncology is the subspecialty of Orthopaedics focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of tumours of the musculoskeletal system, which includes bone and soft tissues such as muscle, ligaments, tendons, fat and nerves. These tumours can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (sarcoma). The treatment focus on complete removal of tumour, surgical reconstruction (limb salvage), rehabilitation and long-term surveillance.
