Ministers Muhammad Riyas, OR Kelu and District Collector received the medicines
Wayanad: VPS Lakeshore Hospital has handed over essential medicines valued at Rs 1 crore to the state government to aid the victims of Wayanad, on Saturday. The medicines were officially received by PWD Minister PA Muhammad Riyas Minister for the Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes O R Kelu, and District Collector Meghashree from VPS Lakeshore Chief Operating Officer Jayesh V Nair, at Collector's chamber. Shortly after notifying the Chief Minister of their readiness to assist,the authorities promptly transported the medicines from Kochi to Wayanad within a day. Minister Muhammad Riyas expressed his gratitude for Lakeshore's swift and generous support in the relief efforts. The relief package, based on a list provided by the Kerala Medical Services Corporation, included emergency medicines for treating infections and providing immediate care, as well as medications for long-term disease management. The package contained supplies such as amoxicillin, potassium clavulanate, azithromycin tablets, ceftriaxone injections, oseltamivir capsules, insulin, and essentials like sanitary pads and bed sheets. Ernakulam District Collector N S K Umesh flagged off the vehicles carrying the medicines from Kochi on Friday. The Collector praised VPS Lakeshore's swift action in delivering the critical supplies during the disaster. Jayesh V Nair conveyed to the Ministers that VPS Lakeshore deeply empathises with those who have lost loved ones and stands ready to assist with any additional relief efforts.
