Training program for students in life-saving skills inaugurated

Kochi: Madhav Chandran,  District Governor, Rotary International District 3201, inaugurated Project Samaritan,  a training program project for students in life-saving skills jointly organized by Rotary International and VPS Lakeshore Hospital, in a function presided over by S K Abdulla, CEO, VPS Lakeshore Hospital on  Wednesday. Ajith Kumar Gopinath, District Coordinator, Rotary International District 3201,  Dr. Lazar Chandy, Project Director – Samaritan, Dr. Arun Oommen, Coordinator – Samaritan and Santhosh Kumar P, District Chairman- School Events, Rotary International District 3201 also spoke on the occasion. Part of the function, a training program on various life-saving skills including basic life support during trauma and emergency care with the help of hands-on experience on how to give  CPR and Heimlich maneuver  was also held for 100 selected students of Campion School, Edappally under the Emergency Department of VPS Lakeshore Hospital led by Dr. Ansar and Dr. Mohammed.

Speaking on the occasion, Ajith Kumar Gopinath, District Coordinator, Rotary International District 3201, said such programs will be conducted at various revenue districts including Ernakulam, Muvattupuzha, Trichur, Palakkad & Coimbatore revenue districts which is expected to benefit more than tens of thousands of students across this region.
