VPS Lakeshore Performs the State’s First Artificial Heart Transplant

VPS Lakeshore’s milestones hit the next one with the very first artificial heart transplant in the state being successfully done for a 61-year old woman who had been affected by Dilated Cardiomyopathy. She was admitted to VPS Lakeshore due to the very reason on September 13, 2021 and was found suffering from extreme breathing issues and hypertension.

The condition however, was brought to absolute cure by the timely incorporation of an artificial heart, which happens to be HeartMate 2, the second gen vernacular assistance device.
