VPS Lakeshore Hospital unveils Labour Suites for a cosy and comfortable birth experience

Kochi: Expectant mothers can now look forward to a more comfortable and personalised birthing experience as VPS Lakeshore, the largest multispecialty hospital in the state, has unveiled its state-of-the-art newly renovated Labour Suite rooms at the hospital.

The suite rooms at VPS Lakeshore offer a host of amenities and features in order to create a home-like atmosphere to welcome mothers and their newborns into the world. Actress Poornima Indrajith inaugurated the renovated Labour Suites in a function organised at the hospital on Friday.

The suites are equipped with cutting-edge facilities that ensure the highest standards of care for expectant mothers and their newborns. The rooms come with facilities such as special beds and state-of-the-art technology. " From the moment of admission until discharge, all care is provided at the labour suite itself," said Dr. Smitha Joy, Senior Consultant and HOD, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, VPS Lakeshore Hospital. The family members can provide companionship during the delivery, alongside the medical team. " The labour suites are equipped to deal with any sort of emergency situation during the delivery time," said Dr. Gigi Samsheer, Consultant - OB & G - Laparoscopic Surgeon.

S K Abdulla, Managing Director at VPS Lakeshore Hospital, highlighted that the hospital has allocated an entire floor for such services to cater to expecting couples. "This environment aims to offer a homely atmosphere for the whole family. The labour suites are tailored to meet the preferences of families desiring a natural delivery with minimal intervention. In the upcoming days, we plan to introduce even more advanced facilities at this centre," said SK Abdulla during the inauguration.

The inauguration was graced by Chief Operating officer (COO) Jayesh V Nair and Dr. Thresy George, Senior Consultant, Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the hospital.
